Poem to Being

Infinite fire made space within itself for other being,

and the universe was born

Everything that is

Came from this expansion of fire,

The intermingling of fire with space

Expansion, born of collision, impacts

Chain reactions ripple through space-time

Bound for evermore collisions

Infinite consequences

Every impact, every ripple, adding complexity

Star, rock, moon, planet, dust, water, life

The intricate detail of a flower

The whimsical expressionism of spiders’ backs

Roaming the expert craftsmanship of exquisite webbery

In death, we are not obliterated

But changed

Another collision, other ripples

More scattering of elements

Stardust mystifying space

Being drops nothing
