Collision Course

Matter feels the weight of loneliness — incessant longing

in its core— as it proceeds in a straight line, speed constant
through the vastness of space and unlimited time,

waiting for a force to act upon it, waiting for something

more than uniformity year after year, dreaming for more
than inertia, dreaming for vectors to quicken the pulse,

accelerate, obliterate, a change in course, a touch,

no matter how brief, a chance for interaction, action
and reaction, a chance to apply force to another, the impact

of hard charged spherical bodies colliding in space.
