With an early exposure to part-time jobs
Across summer holidays and weekends
Working in a pharmacy or pathology lab
Biological science was the career choice
Then fulltime in research pharmacology
With day release to gain honours degree
And then it led onto a Masters, you see
All that time with a government licence
For working with animals of many kinds
With several scientific papers published
Yet I found no answer for all humanity
A drug to treat and solve mental issues
That still pervade the wider human race
Being disappointed at such a dead end
I left that career to seek something new
Still scientific, but emerging technology
Computer software, offering a solution
As for many, no longer an almost cure
Anaesthetised mice
Carotid cannulation
Now I’d need glasses
